Albright-Knox Celebrates Topping Out of Gundlach Building

We reached an exciting milestone last week with the topping out of the new Buffalo AKG Art Museum – the Jeffrey E. Gundlach Building. With the steel frame structure in place, Gilbane Building Company will next pour the concrete floors, with installation of exterior and interior walls continuing throughout the Fall.

Designed by OMA, in collaboration with Cooper Robertson, the project includes gallery spaces for special exhibitions, a new great lawn, an education wing, and other site improvements throughout the campus. Zubatkin has had the privilege of working with the AKG team on the project implementation strategy, design, and approvals processes, as well as managing the design and implementation of Common Sky – Olafur Eliason/ Studio Other Spaces’ new courtyard enclosure artwork.
