Our own Julie Geden was recently selected for Professional Women in Construction’s (PWC) 20 Under 40 Outstanding Women in The Industry. Julie was one of the honorees at the PWC Holiday Party, which she attended with several members of the Zubatkin Team. PWC is a national, non-profit organization committed to advancing professional, entrepreneurial and managerial opportunities for women and other “non-traditional” populations in construction and related industries. Zubatkin Supports City Harvest Food Drive

As part of the firm’s volunteer outreach efforts, Zubatkin employees collected nonperishable items for the annual City Harvest Food Drive. The food drive helps keep shelves stocked at 500 soup kitchens, food pantries, and other community food programs that support New Yorkers in need. We’re pleased to share that we broke our record from last year in collecting over 500 pounds of food!

Clark Art Institute Announces Opening of Manton Research Center

We are pleased to share the opening of The Clark Art Institute’s newly renovated Manton Research Center. Zubatkin was engaged by the Clark Art Institute to oversee the design process and construction of the Manton Research Center, along with various other projects. The Manton Research Center is central to the Clark’s mission of advancing and extending the public understanding of art. The renovation provides new public spaces including a gallery and study center for works on paper; a public reading room; and a bookstore and coffee bar, while building-wide upgrades for accessibility and life safety have enhanced its library, auditorium, and administrative offices.

As a supporter of Open House New York, Zubatkin participated in the annual OHNY weekend, an event that provides access to New York’s most important buildings, offering an extraordinary opportunity to experience the city and meet the people who design, build, and preserve New York. Our firm partnered with Murphy Burnham & Buttrick Architects to offer an in-depth tour of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Two of our team members joined in leading the tour, speaking to elements of the project’s restoration and the newly installed geothermal wells. Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Reveals Design for New Clubhouse in Harlem

We’re pleased to share that Madison Square Boys & Girls Club has revealed the design for a new clubhouse in Harlem. Designed by Rogers Partners, the project is located on 155th Street in North Central Harlem and offers after-school activities for youth ages 6 to 18, including education support, athletics, and arts programming such as dance, music, visual arts, and digital media labs.
Zubatkin was originally engaged by Madison Square Boys & Girls Club to develop an overall project implementation plan and is currently overseeing the design and construction of the project. Read more in The Architect’s Newspaper.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery Announces a Historic Gift

We’re thrilled to share news on the continued momentum behind the Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s expansion plans. The Museum has just announced that it has raised $103 million for its $125 million project in less than twelve weeks. The campus expansion and renovation project is being designed by Shohei Shigematsu of OMA. More information can be found in the New York Times and on the Albright-Knox website.

Zubatkin has been working with the Albright-Knox over the past year on the development of an implementation strategy, architect selection process and program development.

Albright-Knox Art Gallery Selects OMA for Expansion Project

The Zubatkin team has been working with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery on the development of an implementation strategy and architectural partner selection process for their expansion project. We are excited to share that OMA has been selected and will be moving forward with the project. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery will be OMA’s first art museum commission in the United States. We’re pleased to share that Saint David’s School celebrated the start of construction at their 89th Street Campus last week.  The project has been a longtime dream of Saint David’s, and it is very rewarding to see this milestone come to fruition.
