David P. Reese

With over thirty years of experience, David is an owner’s representative and project manager with a background that spans the design and construction fields. His portfolio covers new construction, renovations and expansions and has a focus on museums, exhibits, cultural facilities and high-end residential developments. He is also particularly knowledgeable in the delivery of historically sensitive projects, including buildings that have been designated as Landmarks or located within historic districts. Notable clients have included the American Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Historical Society, U.S. Post Office and Courthouse in Brooklyn, Smithsonian Institution and The Greenwich Lane.

Prior to joining Zubatkin, David was responsible for directing the Museum and Cultural Division for a major construction management firm. His diverse experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the project delivery process, including the means and methods of construction, project phasing and logistics, contracting plans, cost estimating, construction market trends, contract negotiations and change management. He is often sought out for his expertise and serves as the Director of the firm’s In-House Technical Group.

Mark A. Minkley

Mark brings over twenty years of experience in the management, design and construction of projects that involve diverse functional requirements and program objectives. His unique experience includes community facilities, educational institutions, public realm and private development projects. Notable clients include the Horace Mann School, The Dalton School, and Westport Weston Family YMCA.

Mark is known for his collaborative working style and ability to establish clear frameworks to foster effective decisionmaking. He has partnered with owners to help facilitate a successful public outreach process through the engagement of key stakeholders and community groups. Other specialty areas of expertise include not-for-profit governance, site logistics and phasing, and navigating complex approvals processes.

In addition to his direct project responsibilities, Mark leads Zubatkin’s in-house Green Team. He advises projects on such topics as the effective integration of sustainable materials, availability of green funding sources and energy management strategies.

Julie has twenty years of experience in overseeing the planning and implementation of projects that involve a high level of complexity and the coordination of multiple stakeholders. Her portfolio of work includes the management of projects for arts, cultural, performing arts and educational institutions, as well as high-profile commercial developments. She is also skilled in the management of historic preservation projects that require approvals from the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Prior to joining Zubatkin, Julie served as a Project Director with a major construction management firm in New York City. She brings extensive technical experience with base building construction, renovations, constructability analyses, site logistics planning and phasing, and cost estimating. Over his thirty-year career, he has overseen projects for some of the most iconic museums, cultural institutions, independent schools, membership institutions and religious organizations in the United States. A hands-on manager, he quickly gains the respect and confidence of organizational and Board leadership, project constituents, specialty consultants and construction professionals.

Andy’s strategic approach and comprehensive understanding of the unique design and operational challenges that institutions face have made him a strategic advisor to many prestigious organizations, such as the American Museum of Natural History, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, New-York Historical Society, Studio Museum in Harlem, Clark Art Institute, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Guggenheim Foundation and USGA. In addition to his direct project responsibilities, he leads the firm’s In-House Technical Group, a team of experts who serve as a resource to Zubatkin’s project teams and clients to resolve specific technical challenges that arise during a project’s development.

Andy is a frequent speaker at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums’ Building Museums Conference and has served as a guest lecturer at several colleges and universities in the New York metropolitan area. Marty is a recognized leader in the fields of real estate, owner representation and construction. He has overseen the planning and implementation of some of our most complex museum, educational, religious, institutional, performing arts and private development projects. Notable clients include the American Museum of Natural History, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Council on Foreign Relations, The Century Association and some of the major real estate developers in New York City.

In 1994, Marty founded Zubatkin Owner Representation to assist not-for-profit organizations in the strategic planning and implementation of their capital projects. The firm has established a culture of excellence, delivering the highest quality of work and exceeding the expectations of some of the most discerning clients. Zubatkin is also recognized for its in-house technical expertise and multidisciplinary team of over forty professionals, including architects, landscape architects, engineers, construction specialists and sustainability experts.
