A global financial services firm embarked on a major phased renovation of their corporate headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. The project was designed by Robert A.M. Stern and mandated the delivery of a state-of-the-art work/client environment, with a high level of finish and detail.

Consolidating across three interconnecting floors, the program includes executive offices, enclosed and open area work space, a variety of conference facilities, food service, information technology and audio-visual infrastructure. Artwork was carefully integrated into the space and served as a central design element. To minimize interruptions to the firm’s operations, the project was delivered on a fast-track schedule.

Broadway Housing Communities

Broadway Housing Communities (BHC) is a non-profit housing developer committed to providing housing for individuals and families in the greatest need. Their supportive housing model combines low-income housing with services designed to meet the needs of our tenants and enable them to live independently.

For their seventh project in New York City, BHC acquired an underutilized site on the northern boundary of Harlem’s Sugar Hill neighborhood and launched plans to transform the property into a green model of urban community revitalization. Designed by David Adjaye, the Sugar Hill mixed-use development provides 124 units of affordable housing, an early childhood center, and a new cultural institution, the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling. The new, ground-up facility also includes commercial parking and office space, serving as BHC’s new administrative headquarters.

50 United Nations Plaza

The joint venture of Eastgate Realty and Zeckendorf Development is developing 50 United Nations Plaza, a new, ground-up 42-story luxury residential tower with 88 condominium residences in Midtown Manhattan. Designed by architectural firm Foster + Partners, individual units range from 1,100 to 10,000 square feet. The building features a distinctive stainless steel and glass façade and a customized curtainwall, highlighting skyline views of the United Nations and the East River. The project also includes a first-class amenity package, complete with a spa, fitness center, and 75-foot swimming pool.

18 Gramercy Park

This adaptive re-use project transformed a former SRO hotel located at 18 Gramercy Park into luxury residences. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects, the project was undertaken by Eastgate Realty and Zeckendorf Development. The condominium includes fourteen full-floor condominiums, a terraced duplex penthouse, and a maisonette unit – each with keys to the exclusive Gramercy Park. Located in a historic district, the project involved securing approvals from the Landmark Preservation Commission and an ambitious architectural design.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral Rectory

As a first phase of the overall restoration of its iconic cathedral, the Trustees of St. Patrick’s Cathedral implemented a full renovation of the rectory and minor renovations to the Cardinal’s residence. The facility serves as the center of the clergy’s religious life and includes a library, meeting spaces, public outreach areas, a commercial kitchen and residences for priests. The project included the full renovation of the living quarters, including replacement of the windows, roof, elevator, fire protection systems, life safety systems, HVAC systems and all infrastructure, as well as the restoration of the historic interior finishes.

The Greenwich Lane

The Greenwich Lane

The Greenwich Lane represents a collection of five condominium buildings and five townhouses in Manhattan’s West Village at the site of the former St. Vincent’s Hospital. Zubatkin’s longtime client, Global Holdings, and its joint venture partner, the Rudin Family, are responsible for the 737,000 square foot high-end residential project. The $1 billion adaptive re-use project includes a luxury amenity package, complete with a central courtyard, state-of-the-art fitness floor and 25-meter pool, separate social entertaining suites, children’s playroom and an underground private garage. Located in the Greenwich Village Historical District, the project required the navigation of a complex municipal approvals process. Pre-Certified as a LEED Gold residential development, The Greenwich Lane is aiming to be one of the first LEED Neighborhood Developments in New York City.

The project also includes the creation of the St. Vincent’s Triangle Park, a public space that honors the rich history of St. Vincent’s 160 years of service and features an AIDS memorial.
