American Museum of Natural History’s New Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation

Zubatkin is pleased to be working with the American Museum of Natural History on the new Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation. The Center is expected to open in 2020, after the conclusion of the institution’s 150th anniversary celebration. It will invite visitors to experience the Museum not only as a place of public exhibitions but also as an active scientific and educational institution. Designed by architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects and set into the Columbus Avenue side of the Museum complex at 79th Street, the Gilder Center will include new exhibition and learning spaces with state-of-the-art technology and access to the Museum’s world-class collections. At a time of urgent need to enhance the public understanding of science, the Gilder Center will expand access to a broader range of the Museum’s resources for students, teachers, and families, offering new learning opportunities and inviting all visitors to share in the excitement of discovery.
