Saint David’s School Topping Off Ceremony

Saint David’s School celebrated an exciting milestone last month with the topping off of their expansion & consolidation project. The ceremony included a hardhat tour for Saint David’s early supporters, trustees, and contractors. The group visited the sites of the new lobby, performing arts center, middle gym and eighth grade commons, and culminated at the very top, in the new full-size middle school upper gymnasium. Zubatkin has partnered with Saint David’s on the strategic planning and implementation of this exciting project. Through its year-round programs and the annual OHNY Weekend, Open House New York celebrates the best examples of design and planning throughout the five boroughs.

This year for OHNY Weekend (Oct 14th and 15th), Hudson Theatre is partnering with Zubatkin to offer a behind-the-scenes tour of their newly renovated Landmarked building.  In addition to offering further details on the theatre’s unique history, the tours will provide a first-hand account of how this complex renovation project came together. The Studio Museum in Harlem Unveils New Design

The Studio Museum in Harlem has unveiled the design for their new building. Designed by Adjaye Associates with Cooper Robertson, the facility will expand the Studio Museum’s internationally renowned temporary exhibitions, provide ongoing opportunities to display works from its permanent collection, offer increased educational opportunities and public programs, and enhance the overall visitor experience. Zubatkin has partnered with the Studio Museum across the strategic planning and design phases, and will continue to oversee the project throughout its implementation. Ronald McDonald House New York Grand Re-Opening

We’re excited to announce that after over a year of hard work, Ronald McDonald House New York has completed the renovation and expansion of its Manhattan center.  The improved facility includes eleven additional family units, six post-transplant suites, a newly renovated Macy’s Living Room, a wellness center, allowing the Ronald McDonald House to support even more children and their families during their times of need.  Congratulations to Ronald McDonald House New York and the entire project team!  To learn more about the good work of the Ronald McDonald House, please check out the press release and visit their website.

Matt Doherty Speaking at SGH Create + Construct

On September 19th, Matt Doherty, Vice President, will serve as a panelist to discuss repositioning existing buildings at the SGH Create + Construct Symposium. The panel will discuss the importance of modernizing New York City’s existing infrastructures and the benefits of updating buildings to protect against extreme weather, make the most of limited space, and respond to evolving regulations, among other key issues. Matt will be joined by David Burns of STUDIOS architecture, John Langdon of Skanska USA, and Carlo Scissura of the New York Building Congress. The panel will be moderated by Guy Geier of FXFOWLE and MC-ed by Vince Cammalleri of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger. Looking forward to an interesting and informative discussion. Suzanne Musho Named to 2017 SARA National Design Awards Jury

The Society of American Registered Architects celebrates design excellence in architecture and design through the annual National Design Awards Program, attracting entries from across the country from individuals, firms, and students of architecture and allied disciplines. Our own Suzanne Musho, Vice President at Zubatkin, will serve on the jury alongside Dr. Carol Bentel of Bentel & Bentel Architects/Planners, Michael Macaluso of M.J. Macaluso & Associates, and David Stofcik of Walt Disney Imagineering. They will be joined by Jury Chairperson, Walt Geiger of MG2 and Jury Moderator, Christiaan Dinkeloo of KRJDA. The entire Zubatkin team recently spent a breezy Summer evening at Yankee Stadium for one of the Subway Series games. It was a fun chance for everyone to relax and enjoy a beautiful evening at the ball park with good food and great company. We even got a shout out from the Yankees on the big screen! Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Pinkerton Clubhouse Groundbreaking

Madison Square Boys & Girls Club recently broke ground on its new flagship Clubhouse at the intersection of West 155th Street and Bradhurst Avenue in Harlem. The groundbreaking was commemorated with a ceremony where President Bill Clinton provided the keynote address. The Clubhouse will be named in honor of The Pinkerton Foundation, whose generous endowment will support a wide-range of programming at the Clubhouse for approximately 1,500 new members. Saint David’s School Beam Signing Ceremony

Members of Saint David’s School joined with the project team on Thursday, April 27th, to celebrate the completion of the steel framework on the new renovation and expansion of Saint David’s School on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. During the ceremony, the Head of School and Chair of the Building Committee led the signing of the beams on the six-story, 100,000 square-foot building. Zubatkin is currently working with Saint David’s to reprogram their facilities as part of the overall renovation and expansion of their campus. The project team includes PBDW Architects as architect and Hudson Meridian as construction manager. Congratulations to the team on this significant milestone!
