Mahan is a seasoned project manager with over fifteen years of experience managing capital projects from initial concept and feasibility through implementation. Her work with a variety of world-class cultural institutions covers a full spectrum of construction types – ranging from high-end, detailed interior fit-outs and large-scale infrastructure upgrades to new construction. A majority of her projects have involved the implementation of construction while an institution maintains ongoing operations and remains open to the public. Notable clients include the American Museum of Natural History, New-York Historical Society, and Brooklyn Museum.

Prior to joining Zubatkin, Mahan was a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s in-house team, where she oversaw a variety of projects for their capital program. She brings deep knowledge in budget and schedule development, the planning and delivery of infrastructure upgrades and exhibit projects, historic preservation and conservation strategies, collections and archive management, educational and research programming, and museum operations.

Avi is a licensed professional engineer and project manager with over ten years of experience managing capital construction projects for educational, cultural, and religious institutions, as well as other mission-based organizations. His strategic approach is focused on early planning to navigate project challenges related to site logistics and phasing, complex public approvals processes, multiple funding sources, and ongoing campus operations. He also holds a successful track record of coordinating on behalf of both landlords and tenants in the planning and delivery of base building infrastructure and interior fit-out projects. Notable clients include the Guggenheim Foundation, New 42^nd Street, and Horace Mann School.

With a formal background in civil engineering, as well as expertise in geotechnical, geo-structural, and environmental engineering, Avi is often sought out for his technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills. By applying a collaborative approach, he has built many trusted and longstanding relationships with his clients, peers, and project team members.

With fifteen years of project management experience, Agata has a demonstrated track record of overseeing the planning and implementation of projects that involve a high level of complexity and coordination. Focused on the not-for-profit sector, she has led the development of capital construction projects for cultural, educational, and religious institutions. Her portfolio includes the management of projects involving multiple funding sources, complex municipal approvals, and phasing of construction around ongoing operations. Notable clients include the Jackie Robinson Museum, Studio Museum in Harlem, Stephen Gaynor School, Spence School, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Marsha has over twenty-two years of experience guiding and implementing major projects in the NYC metropolitan area. Over the course of her career, she has demonstrated expertise in out-of-ground development for corporate and residential projects, as well as institutional and aviation upgrades.

With her extensive program management experience in design through construction planning and execution, Marsha brings keen knowledge and insight on scheduling, regulatory approval processes, strategic logistical planning, and control management.

Prior to joining Zubatkin, Marsha worked in senior management for construction and program management firms for which clients included The New York Public Library, The Brearley School, The Mark Hotel and British Airways.

With over twenty years of construction industry experience, Kasey has a proven track record of effectively translating the owner and architect’s vision into accurate, quality construction in the field. Her experience covers the successful delivery of projects at a variety of scales and includes the coordination of tenant fit-out requirements within new and existing buildings. Key clients include the Archdiocese of New York, Park Avenue Armory, The Spence School, Columbia University Medical Center, and General Electric.

Prior to transitioning into the role of Owner Representative, Kasey spent the majority of her career with a major construction management firm in New York City, where she was responsible for managing a variety of construction types. She brings a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the construction delivery process, including the scope and budget management; site phasing, logistics and coordination; environmental health and safety requirements; and quality control and procurement.

Outside of her work at Zubatkin, Kasey is active in a variety of not-for-profit and industry organizations, including Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Women Builders Council, Women in Need (WIN), and the New York Building Council. In 2021, she was awarded the Erica Lindenbaum Tishman Award in recognition of her community service, commitment to mentoring colleagues, and leadership within the industry.

Working closely with Zubatkin’s leadership team, Laurie-Anne oversees the firm’s business development, marketing, communications, and public relations efforts. Her responsibilities include building and maintaining strategic relationships, performing research, developing and implementing Zubatkin’s business plans, strategizing methodologies for new project opportunities, and facilitating the firm’s external communications.  She is particularly adept at collaborating with project stakeholders to translate complicated technical concepts and/or processes into graphics or language that can be clearly understood by a broad audience.

Laurie-Anne brings fifteen years of experience to the firm’s in the design and construction industry, as well as a depth of knowledge of the not-for-profit sector.  Outside of her day-to-day work with Zubatkin, she volunteers with the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums’ Building Museums Conference and previously served as Local Chair for the organization’s 2019 conference.

Larissa has been instrumental in the development of Zubatkin’s proprietary cost control and reporting systems.  Working closely with our project managers, her responsibilities include developing and managing project budgets, modeling cash flow requirements, tracking funding sources, conducting monthly cost reconciliations, contract and cost tracking, contingency reviews, and vetting and processing invoices for payment.  With over fifteen years of experience in the construction industry, her strategic and pro-active management of budgets and contingencies helps to anticipate and mitigate project risks that may arise.

Larissa is also particularly knowledgeable in managing projects that have received public funding.  She has worked with a variety of public agencies to successfully structure financial documentation according to a specific agency’s compliance and reporting requirements. Notable clients include the American Museum of Natural History, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, USGA,  Educational Alliance, and Global Holdings.

In addition to her project responsibilities, Larissa leads Zubatkin’s Outreach Team, an internal charitable initiative that coordinates volunteer opportunities for staff to give back to the local community. In recognition of her leadership and community service, she was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Erica Lindenbaum Tishman Award.

Alan brings thirteen years of experience in the planning and development of new construction and multi-phased renovation projects for cultural, educational, commercial, and residential clients.  His unique, multidisciplinary background includes previous experience as a cost estimator, construction manager, and MEP engineer.  These diverse perspectives inform his work as an owner’s representative and allow him to add value to the projects he manages.  Notable clients include St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Park Avenue Armory, Saint David’s School, and Horace Mann School.

In addition to his direct project responsibilities, Alan serves as the Assistant Director of Zubatkin’s In-House Technical Group (“ITG”).  The ITG serves as a supplemental resource to the core project team assigned to a project and is brought in to address specific technical challenges that may arise during a project’s development.  Owners have greatly benefitted from Alan’s input on conceptual cost estimates, budget and schedule development, procurement planning, and value engineering efforts, as well as recommendations for an efficient project delivery.

Kate is a licensed professional engineer and accomplished leader with over two decades of experience directing capital programs for institutional clients. She is well-versed in all phases of the project life cycle and has managed a full complement of project types – from historic preservation and new construction to campus master planning and utility infrastructure upgrades. Notable clients include The Public Theater, Temple Israel of the City of New York, The Pennington School, Westport Weston Family YMCA, and Princeton Theological Seminary.

Through her experience in the not-for-profit sector, Kate brings strong communication skills that are essential for working with Board governance structures and advising clients on complex regulatory approvals processes. Her practical management approach has been an asset to successful collaborations with a variety of notable design architects.  At Zubatkin, she is involved with the firm’s internal Mentorship and Professional Development Committees.

Prior to joining Zubatkin, Kate served as Capital Program Manager for nearly fifteen years at a national facilities and engineering firm, where clients included Wellesley College and Princeton University. She also served as a consultant to the World Trade Center Construction division of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, where she facilitated design coordination for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum project.

A Senior Project Manager with Zubatkin, Don is an accomplished professional with over thirty-five years of experience in the fields of architecture, interiors, project management and construction. His diverse experience includes institutional, mixed-use development, residential and corporate interior projects in the United States and overseas. With an ability to quickly understand the needs of owners and foster a collaborative team approach, he has built a portfolio of successfully completed projects and maintained longstanding relationships with his clients and colleagues. Notable assignments include work with the Guggenheim Museum, Smithsonian Institute, L&B Realty, Time Warner, Deloitte and numerous global financial services firms.

Don previously held senior-level positions with major architecture firms in New York City, where he had lead management responsibility for the design and implementation of over ten million square feet of construction. He serves as the Director of Technical Services for Zubatkin’s In-House Technical Group, advising on program development, design and technical issues.

Over his fifteen years with Zubatkin Owner Representation, Jason has proven himself to be a valuable leader, effective communicator and skilled problem-solver. His experience includes the strategic development and oversight of capital construction initiatives for museums, art galleries, religious organizations, K-12 schools, and membership institutions across the East Coast of the United States. Notable clients include the Clark Art Institute, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Planet Word Museum and Palm Beach Day Academy.

Over his career, Jason has worked on projects with renowned architects, such as Foster + Partners, Selldorf Architects, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), and Tadao Ando. Focused on maintaining a clear understanding of his clients’ goals and objectives, he aims to challenge the project team to develop better solutions, delivering the best work product for the owner and maximizing the value of every dollar spent. Jason’s specialty areas of expertise include contract strategy and negotiations, exhibit development, dispute resolution and understanding facility operational requirements.

As Managing Principal, Jason oversees the day-to-day management for Zubatkin.  In addition to his leadership role on projects, he is responsible for the firm’s operations and strategic planning initiatives.
