Planet Word Launches New Exhibit

Planet Word Launches New Exhibit

Last month, The New York Times covered the opening of Lexicon Lane, the newest exhibition at Planet Word in Washington, DC. Lexicon Lane is a combination escape room and puzzle hunt that challenges visitors to solve a number of different cases.

In the article, journalist Deb Amlen highlighted that Planet Word is housed in the historic Franklin School building, adding that the museum’s construction intentionally serves its mission, which is to celebrate language in a fun, alternative, and engaging way. “The call to recognize language as a powerful tool is everywhere,” Amlen wrote, noting that “most of the exhibits at Planet Word are visual, touchable and highly interactive.”

Zubatkin is honored to have the privilege of working with Planet Word and the project team, including assisting in the management of Lexicon Lane. Read the full article in The New York Times and find out more about our work with Planet Word.

Earlier this week, the American Museum of Natural History unveiled new details on the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation!

As featured in the NYTimes as part of an article by journalist Robin Pogrebin, the project will “[emphasize] links between the museum’s various themes and activities — from exhibition to education; from children to scholars; from dinosaurs and whales to insects and butterflies. The building also seeks to improve the museum’s physical circulation, creating about 30 new connections within 10 existing buildings so visitors can flow more easily from one area to another.”

Zubatkin is honored to have the privilege of working with AMNH and the project team in the development of this project. Learn more in The New York Times and Architectural Record.

2021 Award Recipient: Kasey Pace

2021 Award Recipient: Kasey Pace

We’re excited to continue the Erica Lindenbaum Tishman Leadership Award program! In its second year, the annual award is presented to a person who personifies the values and embodies the spirit that Erica represented every single day, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, an interest in mentorship and developing peers, a passion for resolving a particular challenge, empathy towards others, and a commitment to community service.

After much consideration, through a process driven by the memory of Erica’s spirit and passion, the Selection Committee agreed that Kasey Pace personified the award in many ways. A recognized leader in the A/E/C industry and member of Zubatkin’s Leadership Team, Kasey was nominated in recognition of her strong work ethic, commitment to developing younger staff in their careers, and collaborative approach to problem-solving. Her dedication to community service is apparent through her involvement in many not-for-profit and industry organizations, including Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) New York, Women Builders Council (WBC), Women In Need (WIN), and the New York Building Congress (NYBC).

Kasey has selected Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) as the charity that will receive a donation in her honor. She chose this organization because of its important mission of helping to empower and improve representation for women in the construction industry, as well as her own personal involvement in supporting the organization through the years from the successful completion of a NEW Signature Project, collaborative mentorship with NEW/CREWNY to most recently transitioning onto the NEW Ambassadors Council. Please join us in congratulating Kasey!
