Jewish Home at Rockleigh Recognized as One of America’s Best Nursing Homes

We are pleased to share that our client, the Jewish Home at Rockleigh has been listed as one of America’s Best Nursing Homes in Newsweek. The publication identifies the nation’s top nursing homes based on three critical criteria: overall performance, peer recommendations, and each facility’s handling of COVID-19.

Furthering the Jewish Home’s efforts to provide state-of-the-art care, we’re excited to report that our work overseeing the construction at the Charles P. Berkowitz Center for Rehabilitation is nearing completion. The new facility will provide warm water aquatic therapy, large inpatient gym areas, dedicated space for outpatients, and a new 60-room residential facility for short-term rehabilitation patients.

Zubatkin is honored to be part of the planning and development of this important project that will help further distinguish the Jewish Home Family as a premier provider of rehabilitation services. Read more about the project and the Jewish Home’s recent gala celebration in the Jewish Standard.

Studio Museum in Harlem Celebrates Construction Milestone

The Studio Museum in Harlem held its Creating Space Ceremony to commemorate the next phase of construction for their new building, designed by Adjaye Associates in collaboration with Cooper Robertson!

The Studio Museum in Harlem is the premier center for contemporary artists of African descent, the principal visual art institution in Harlem, and a magnet for visitors from around the globe. Their new facility will be the first home the Museum has ever occupied that will be conceived and built for its program – allowing the institution to further connect and serve its community for many generations to come.

Zubatkin is honored to have partnered with the Studio Museum over the last 13 years on the planning and development of this historic project.  We look forward to further progress with the construction in the coming months and the Museum’s eventual opening!

The New-York Historical Society Breaks Ground on Its Expansion

The New-York Historical Society Breaks Ground on Its Expansion

Last month, the New-York Historical Society broke ground on its expansion project, which will add over 70,000 square feet to its campus.  The project will create space for the American LGBTQ+ Museum, the first museum dedicated to LGBTQ history and culture in the City.  The expansion will also provide additional space for educational initiatives, exhibitions, and public programs, as well as collections archives and administrative functions.

Billie Jean King, a well-known advocate for equality and social justice issues, was a guest speaker at the groundbreaking event.  The new building will include the space for the archives of Billie Jean King, as well as other specialty collections. “We are so happy that the American LGBTQ+ Museum has found a home here in New York.  It is our time for our American LGBTQ+ community to share our story – not only to the greater world, but also to one another,” said King.

Zubatkin is thrilled to be part of this visionary project, along with the New-York Historical Society, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and the rest of the project team!

Construction Advances at the Albright-Knox in Buffalo

We’re excited to share footage of the construction progress at the Albright-Knox taken by Gilbane Building Company!

“The museum is currently undergoing an extensive expansion that will more than double the number of works that can be displayed at any given time, including adding state-of-the-art space for presenting special exhibitions. The new Gundlach Building will incorporate several visitor amenities and will have a wraparound promenade that visually connects the interior of the building. It will also radically enhance the visitor experience at the museum, creating more space for education, dining, and social activities, while better integrating the campus with the landscape of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Delaware Park.”

As the owner’s representative, Zubatkin has worked with the Albright-Knox on the development of the project implementation strategy and in overseeing the design, approvals, and construction.

Princeton Theological Seminary Plans for the Future

Princeton Theological Seminary Plans for the Future

A Facilities Conditions Assessment (FCA) can serve as an essential planning tool and is particularly relevant as many institutions have been “resetting” capital investment and deferred maintenance priorities in looking beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zubatkin recently worked with Princeton Theological Seminary and StudioJAED on the development of a comprehensive FCA to review all existing buildings and supporting infrastructure.  The work began with a thorough and qualitative RFP process to identify the right project partner, then involved strategic management of the study to ensure its value for senior leadership and operations/maintenance decision-making.  As a result, the Seminary is currently advancing other campus planning initiatives that will support their vision for the future.
